SodaStream CO2 Refill Delivery on Mississippi Avenue, Portland

The neighborhood already has the logic

Mississippi Ave runs on a particular kind of practicality. Mississippi Records, Bridge City Comics, New Seasons — the neighborhood has been building a version of local commerce for long enough that buying local isn't a statement, it's just Tuesday. Sustainability isn't something people here announce; it's just how the errands go. When something in your kitchen runs out, you look for the option that doesn't require a highway.

Sparkling water delivery on Mississippi Avenue fits inside that logic without any adjustments. Leave an empty cylinder on your porch Monday morning. We swap it for a full one before the day's done. You don't need to be home, you don't need to go anywhere, and the cylinder goes back into circulation rather than into the trash.

We're Bubba Bubble — a family-owned CO2 refill operation based in Overlook, just two neighborhoods north. We've been on these streets long enough to know which porches have the steepest steps and which dogs are going to make the whole thing an event. North Portland, including Mississippi Ave and the surrounding zip codes, is our Monday route.

What a SodaStream CO2 refill on Mississippi Avenue actually involves

When your cylinder runs out, you have a few options, and most of them require a car. Retailer exchange programs get you a cylinder that was refilled somewhere well outside Portland and shipped in. Ordering online means waiting several days, and shipping pressurized CO2 cross-country has an environmental cost that somewhat undercuts the whole point of making your own sparkling water.

We refill locally — in Portland, not in a warehouse in New Jersey — and the Bubbamobile brings the full cylinder to your door. Place your order at https://www.bubbabubble.co before Sunday night, set your empty outside Monday morning, and that's it. We handle standard screw-in cylinders, quick-connect cylinders, and 130L screw-top cylinders. If you're not sure which type you have, there's a reference guide on the site.

Pricing: $25 per refill, or $22.80 with a subscription. Delivery is $5.

The walkability irony

Mississippi Ave has spent years becoming one of the more car-optional parts of Portland. And yet getting a SodaStream CO2 refill here has historically meant driving — the nearest exchange points aren't on the Ave, and they're not particularly close. That's a specific inconvenience in a neighborhood where most people would rather just not.

Monday delivery fixes this. If you'd rather pick up in person, Cherry Sprout on Mississippi carries our cylinders — but most customers on the Ave find the doorstep swap easier, even in one of the city's most walkable neighborhoods. Which, admittedly, is a little funny.

Sparkling water that keeps working

The cylinder refill is the part of owning a SodaStream that breaks the habit for most people. They run out, the trip seems annoying, and suddenly the machine is living at the back of the counter. A subscription fixes this: we come on a regular schedule, you set your empties outside Monday morning, you don't have to remember anything, and the sparkling water just keeps working. Most of our North Portland customers find that once they set it up, they stop thinking about it entirely — which is exactly the point.

If you're new to Bubba Bubble, start with a single à la carte order. You can switch to a subscription whenever the timing makes sense.
